tell your family you love them
scariest moment of my life.
so i don't scare anyone else....i'll tell you now that everything is okay. my brother wanted to get some nachos for some reason tonight so we headed over to ale house. we order our food, he gets the huge chicken nachos and i get some crazy steak salad thing. (sounds like something i would invent doesn't it). after waiting a bit, our food comes out. we start eating. after a little bit my brother stops eating and is holding his napkin over his face. i ask if he's okay and he says that he ate a chip sideways. i continue eating. after another minute he's still not eating. i ask again if he's okay and he just says it hurts, but is fine. after about another minute...all of a sudden he faints and falls to the left and hits the wall. i rush over to his side of the bench to help. he starts having slight convusions. i pick him up so he's sitting upright and keep on saying his name. he stops convulsing but is just staring off. i keep on saying his name and he finally comes to. he was in a warm sweat and still slightly out of it. we call for the check and head home. everything happened so fast that no one else in the restraunt really knew anything had happened. after talking to my dad, he said that he probably just choked on the chip. I did not know this, but if you choke it's natural for you to faint due to no oxygen and then your body will convulse to try to get whatever out. my brother said he was in a weird dream like state and didn't remember really falling over and just remembers me saying his name the last few times. he said the first thing he wanted to do was to punch me. (shows he's back to normal)
we still don't really know what happened and why. it could have been the chip, but he had eaten the chip a little bit before and one would think that it would have choked him and he would have grabbed his neck. he was drinking mountain dew and he hasn't had caffiene in a while. he did say that he's felt odd before, but has never fainted as such. he is going to talk to the nurses at work tomorrow to see if he should get some tests. hopefully it was just a chip and nothing else.
i'm going to be sappy. this was the scariest moment in my life. i love my brother with all of my heart and to see him all of a sudden collaps and shake scared the shit out of me. i remained calm, but i honestly do not know what i would do if anything ever happened to my brother and best friend. my father lost his brother at an early age and it has to be one of the worst things in life to happen. as i said, he's okay now and i pray that it was nothing more than a chip. tell your family and friends you love them and let them know how great they are. life is dangerous and can change in an instant from as little of a thing as a chip.
